Membership of Academicals is open to all University of Oxford staff and postgraduate students who are members of the University Club. Up to 20% of our membership can be drawn from people not associated with the University Club.

Details on membership fees can be obtained from the Secretary or Treasurer. As a general guide:

* Occasional use of club equipment limited to once per month.
** No use of club equipment.

Students must be unsalaried and in full time education (i.e. doing a degree).

We offer free membership to those who only wish to coach or cox.

For those joining late in the season we have a sliding scale of fees, starting in January. For example, fees for a full membership are as follows:

Note you pay for the whole month in which your membership begins. We will also consider alternative rates for special circumstances - particularly for those who are leaving Oxford during the season, and for those experiencing financial hardship. If you wish to be considered for special dispensation, please contact the Secretary.

Experienced rowers wishing to join Academicals must show competency in rowing before joining the Club. Members are also required to follow safety regulations, such as passing a swim test, and must abide by the rules of the British Rowing.
